Buy My Outfit a Drink

Outfit #21

This week cannot be over fast enough. I have all of next week off!!!

I saw Black Swan Saturday night. OMG, it was so good. The movie left me speechless and Natalie Portman was amazing. I highly recommend this movie.

I still have Christmas shopping left to do. I'm not really sure when I am going to squeeze it in either.
Sorry for the boring post. I'm empty.

Hands Across America

Outfit #20

Okay so this is almost the same outfit I wore on Thanksgiving. Different blouse though. :)

My hands are really awkward in this picture. I think I was in the process of moving them when my mom snapped this shot. One of my nephews kept asking to see my necklace tonight. He said it was pretty. He's almost 3 and very sweet.

I got a manicure today. I love getting manicures. I feel so feminine with polished hands. I got them painted a deep red color to keep with the Christmas spirit.

Mr. Bright Eyes

Outfit #19

Okay, so I am awful with Photoscape. I like that Photoshop did almost everything for me. This photo is way too bright!

I went to see Tron: Legacy last night. I was so excited all week and then I feel asleep during the movie! I almost never fall asleep during a movie. I must have been exhausted. That was an expensive nap!

I counted all my items for the 30 for 30 Challenge the other night and realized I only had 28 items. So I added another pair of jeans which should help me fight this cold weather and still finish the challenge by the end of the year! That is my goal. This outfit lacks color. I probably should have worn a different scarf. Oh well.

On a better note, classes & exams are over for this semester! Yay! Only four more semesters left (one of those is a summer semester.)

High School Graduation

Outfit #18 - My clothes just graduated from high school.

I'm back! I took a little hiatus from the 30 for 30 because of the weather. Today is was warmer so I jumped right back in head first!

I hate that I am still using my iPhone as my camera. I just need a charger for my camera. I really need to order one. ASAP! Also I am now using PhotoScape to edit my photos because my Photoshop trial expired. It is not as simple to use as Photoshop. Keep with me while I experiment to get the best results.

I am watching Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian so I can go see the new Narnia movies in theaters. I know, I am a nerd. That's okay with me.

I'd Never Cheat

Outfit #17

So stinkin' tired of photos with my iphone!

Yeah, so this under tee is not in my thirty items. It has gotten very cold and I did not include many long sleeved items in my 30 and I was looking for warmth this morning. Plus, it is a basic tee that couldn't possibly count as cheating, right?

So to make up for the terrible picture I think I will share with you my love of the Deschanel sisters. These ladies are fantastic. I love Emily in Bones and Zooey in 500 Days of Summer, Weeds, Elf and Almost Famous just to name a few plus have you heard her sing? I heart She & Him. If you aren't familiar with these sisters, you should be.

Sweet Sixteen

Outfit #16

I would have liked this outfit a lot more had I worn a different belt. All I did was take the ribbon from the dress and belt it over top. It looked cuter on the hanger together. Oh, well. I should also take my photos in the morning to avoid the wrinkles.

I'm so close to the end of this semester. I can smell it. Promise.

My T.V. show of the moment is The Wire. I've only watched 5 episodes of the first season but I want more! I have Netflix. Through my blu-ray player I get Netflix instant right to my T.V. I have this instead of extended cable. Cable is very expensive and I don't really feel it is worth the cost. If I really want to watch something on extended cable I record it at Mom's or have a friend record it on their dvr for my viewing pleasure. He's a swell friend.

Why exactly am I talking about why I don't have extended cable? No clue.

Study Guide

Well, this week didn't go so bad. The only outfit I am not crazy about is #15. I didn't realize how often I have been wearing these boots. I love them! Thanks again Mom!
Only two weeks left until I can enjoy the other items in my closet again! Yay!

Half Way There

Whoa, Whoa Livin' On A Prayer...... Outfit #15

I'm not so sure I pull off the belted scarf look as well as I would have liked. I also feel as if I have worn this dress a lot. I think I've only worn it three times but it feels like way more than that. I am only only day 15 and I am already wanting to wear my other clothes. I miss them. I can't believe other people are on outfit 20. I am jealous of them. They are five days closer to the end.

I have lots of school work to do so I don't really have time to blog about much else. Please forgive me this time.

Fourteen and Counting

Outfit #14
Again I failed to take a picture of the outfit I wore on Saturday. It was 30 for 30 appropriate. I really should get a tripod and a new battery charger for my camera. Right now my pictures are being taken on my iPhone.

I cannot wait until this semester is over. I need a short break from classes, like asap.

So far from this challenge I have learned that I need more necklaces, scarfs, belts, neutral skirts, and maybe a few more cardigans. I also would love to own another pair of these jeans. They are skinny jeans from the Simply Vera line at Kohls. I can only find straight jeans in this line now. Those aren't as awesome. I bought these at the end of 2009 and I have worn them a lot.

Lucky 13

Outfit #13

I really liked my outfit again today. Two days in a row now! I'm on a roll, haha! Again, I am wearing lots of blue. For the first time I went out black Friday shopping. I just tagged along with a friend that was shopping for himself and his son. We didn't have any exciting push and shove experiences this morning. I can't imagine wanting anything bad enough to knock someone out of my way. I did buy the first season of Eastbound and Down for $10. I have been waiting to receive it for months now from Netflix and the status is always 'very long wait' so I decided just to buy it since it was on sale. The no shopping policy only refers to clothes, right?

Turkey Day!

So, it appears that I am behind as this is only outfit #12 that I have documented. Although I did wear pieces of my 30 for 30 all the rest of the days this week, I don't have pictures. I thought I could remember what I wore and then take pictures later but I don't have the best memory and can't recall what exactly I wore on other days. So, I am saying I am on day 12. I traded out a top I had not worn for these shorts. It was unusually warm today and I wanted to wear tights with shorts. I also tried something new with my hair. I created waves using my flat iron. It didn't turn out as great as I thought but the hair definitely grew on me. It was easy to do as well. I did it with hair that wasn't freshly washed. I have very thick hair and didn't want my hair to be bulky. It was easy to do. I followed a hair tutorial I found on youtube.

It was really nice seeing my extended family this evening. One of my cousins was in from the Navy and another cousin and his wife were in from West Virginia. Now that we are older it is rare that everyone is at the family functions. My cousin, Tess, who is a high school junior told me I looked like a "hood-rat" in my outfit. I just laughed. I thought my outfit was fun.

Red Red Wine

Outfit #11

Yay! For only the second time this week I really liked the outfit I had on! Normally I prefer to keep my outfits simple. I just feel uncomfortable being overly accessorized. This top is missing item #4 otherwise know as item #29. I only photographed 25 items of my 30. So far there is still one item unseen. I also haven't worn one of the cardigans I chose. I guess next week will determine whether or not I switch it out for something else.

So in other news, I am a 26 year old in love with the Harry Potter franchise. I'm not going to see the film until Sunday. Yikes, I want to watch it now!

Not only am I inspired by fellow bloggers style, I am inspired by their ability to save money and pay down their debt. I was looking at my bank account today and the amount of money I spend eating out is ridiculous. I have food at my apartment that I can cook. I don't cook more often because of time. I would rather be doing other things than cooking. But it is way cheaper to fix meals at home. Plus I can eat more leftovers to save money on lunch. I set a rule for myself that starting Sunday I can only eat out once during the week and once on the weekend. I must find ways to be smarter about money.

Green With Envy

Outfit #10

Well, I have another headlesss post. I really need my bangs trimmed. I didn't pin my bangs back but wore my hair in a pony tail. Let me tell you, that was NOT cute!

This challenge has really made me wish I had other bloggers wardrobes. Some of my items just seem inadequate.

I really like these pants and this top. The picture doesn't do them justice. I got the top at a 2nd hand shop that buys/sells gently used clothing. The top is J. Crew and I paid $5 for it. What a steal! I love finding good deals.

So far the challenge hasn't been too difficult. Mixing and matching pieces is fairly easy at this point. While I haven't been too excited about some of my outfits, I feel this challenge is beneficial because I get to be inspired by all the other lovely ladies taking part in this challenge. Hopefully at the end of 30 days I will be able to be more creative with the items I have in my closet. Also I hope to be more comfortable taking risks and making mistakes with my wardrobe.

What Goes Around Comes Around

Outfit #9
Sorry for the cluttered photo!
I really liked this outfit. It came together fairly easily and it was comfy to wear. I never in a million years thought I would wear shoulder pads! It is very funny how things always seem to come back in fashion in one way or another.

I also love these boots. My mom bought them for me because I was being cheap and didn't want to buy them for myself. The boots weren't even expensive. Thanks Mom!

A girl in my class this evening asked if I always came from work because I was always dressed up. I told her yes. It is true that I came from work but even if I was still a full-time student I would like to think I would still take the time to "dress up." Don't get me wrong I love wearing jeans and a t-shirt but that can get kind of boring. And it isn't hard to get stuck in a rut.

Umbrella...Ellla....Ella

Outfit #8

I felt iffy about this outfit all day. I liked the idea of the casual shirt paired with the dressier skirt. I think the jury is still out as to whether I would wear this again. I did get a few strange looks from a girl in a class of mine. Haha! At least I tried!

I own a lot of blue. I always thought I was better at having a good mix of color. I was wrong. Most of the items in my challenge are blue. In the future I will definitely make an effort to buy a better variety of color.

You know what I really hate? Tights that don't fit. Actually these are panty hose and I didn't realize that until I had left the hose. I actually didn't realize how poorly they fit until I left my house. At some point my mother gave me some of her black hose. My mom isn't but a half inch shorter than me but she weighed 125lbs most of her life so we don't exactly wear the same size. I was in fear these hose were going to rip at any moment today. Thankfully they did not!

And of course I am watching Glee while writing this post. Hence the title.

Just Another Music Monday

Outfit #7

I hate taking my own picture. The lighting is awful. I took this picture late and my makeup/hair was looking rough so that is why I am headless in this picture, haha! I love the details on this sweater though. Plus it is super cozy. Perfect for a rainy day.

I saw Iron & Wine on Monday night. Amazing. The acoustic portion of the show was my favorite. During the set with the full band he changed up some of the songs and I wasn't a fan of the new arrangements. Still it was an amazing show.

I did cheat yesterday though. Since I went to a show I *had* to buy a t-shirt. I always buy a shirt for every show I go to. I will not be wearing it until the 30 for 30 challenge is over though.

I am a day behind because I did not go anywhere Sunday except the gym and of course I wore gym clothes. Other than that I stayed in my apartment.

Seeing Spots - Six Style

Well I had every intention of letting a friend of my snap my picture before we saw a movie tonight but the mall was crazy crowded. And I was embarrassed to have them take my picture in front of everyone. I'm new at this and a little self conscience.

I absolutely heart these earrings I am wearing. I bought them for $1.50 at Forever 21. Such a steal!

First Five Wrap-Up

Here is a review of the first five days of the 30 for 30 challenge! Despite all the blue, day 3 is my favorite. Even though I don't have beautiful surrondings I am so glad I found a co-worker to take my picture for me. I have not bought a tripod yet and have not mastered taking full body shots of myself in a full length mirror. I'm interested to see what the next five outfits will bring!

FYI....The top in day 2 is item # 26. I was short five items last Sunday when I took the pics of my 30 items.

Casual Friday

I was so glad to see Friday! Not be to cheesy but I am always working for the weekend.
Something I really like about this challenge is that this is the first time all week I have worn jeans. Normally I live in jeans because I felt they were easier. In reality putting on a dress or skirt each morning takes no more time than putting on a pair of jeans. So hopefully after the challenge I will stop being so lazy with my outfit choices.
I was in sort of a pity party mood Friday. I was feeling sad because I am single. Well I decided sitting around feeling sorry for myself was silly, so I decided to perk up. I still would like to find a guy but I'm just not going to mope about not having one.

Since the 30 for 30 started I have been reading a lot more blogs. Blog reading takes up a lot of time. I am getting lots of good inspiration from all you ladies! It is so nice to see how everyone makes the items in their closet work together. I also like seeing how everyone accessorizes. Accessories have always been a challenge for me.

How do some bloggers remember which season they bought their clothes? Unless I have bought the item in the past few months there is no way I will remember when I bought it!

The moustache headband makes another appearance!

I've Got The Blues Outfit #3

There is a lot of blue in this outfit. After seeing the picture I wish I would have worn my brown booties. Oh, well every outfit can't be perfect. I love this skirt. I got it at Anthropologie for $29 it was originally $190. Score! Plus it has kitties on it which I find adorable. The Anthropologie sale room is my favorite place. Too bad I don't live near a store or I would probably shop there more often. Online sale prices usually never get low enough for me to afford.

I've been watching True Blood non-stop via netflix. Now I am halfway through Season 2and I am getting completely burned out on the show. I really want to watch Eastbound and Down but it has been in the "extremely long wait" category for a while now. A friend of mine suggested I watch The Wire but I'm not sure if that's what I want either. I have the cold weather blahs. blah, blah, blah!

Day 2 - How GLEEFUL!

Day #2 went well. I felt the cardigan was a bit blah but I love the blouse I wore. The best part of the blouse are the ruffles on the side but it is November. I must wear a cardigan or risk getting sick.

Watching Glee at the moment and I listed to the songs online last week and wasn't too excited about the songs. Hopefully it will all come together after seeing the songs with the story. I am such a Glee dork!! I want the Wii game Karaoke Revolution Glee. I don't have a Wii though.

Start Off With A Bang!!!!

The 30 For 30 started today! I am not really one to plan out outfits in advance. Getting dressed in the morning can sometimes be a pain because I refuse to plan ahead. However with a smaller wardrobe to choose from, I had chosen an outfit in no time at all! The skirt was the first item I went for but the sweater was the third top I tried.

Tights: ??? don't remember
